Specialist in special machinery & toolmaking on course for growth

VWH GmbH defies economic downturn with flying colours

There is no momentum, the economic downturn has direct consequences for the economy and industry, many companies are starting to pursue strongly conservative strategies. A recent survey by the management consultancy Deloitte shows that the willingness of German companies to invest has fallen to a seven-year low, the Handelsblatt reported in November 2019. Above all in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering and the chemical industry, the willingness to invest is declining sharply.

But the solution lies in the opposite direction: investments against recession. "Now is the time to invest," says Thomas Sturm, Managing Director of VWH GmbH. He explains that proactive corporate optimization is a success enabler that helps companies survive economic downturns. "The success of VWH GmbH is based on our ambitious investments and our commitment to innovative and economical solutions in the areas of automation, molding and engineering".

Expansion of the technology centre completes the plastics technology division

The new technology centre of VWH GmbH deals with the topics Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Tooling and Additive Manufacturing. These generative manufacturing processes create three-dimensional physical objects directly from a 3D CAD data set. For each individual area, volume elements are layered or joined together, so that component-dependent tools are no longer required. In accordance with the company's high quality standards, this ensures that solutions always represent absolute added value for customers and that their ideas are fulfilled 100%. "In this way, we are increasing the pace for future developments and innovations," says Sturm.

Production area is increased by 3,000 m²

The ground-breaking ceremony for the new production centre took place in June 2019. With this, VWH GmbH is preparing itself for the next growth phase. By February 2020, the production area will be expanded by around 3,000 m². Production processes will be restructured in two separate wings of the new building, and there will be room for state-of-the-art production machines and additional assembly space for the development of customer projects. "If you sell Lean production, you have to be organized Lean yourself", explains Thomas Sturm. The term Lean Management encompasses all methods, ways of thinking and tools available to companies to optimize their processes. The "streamlining" of VWH GmbH will save both costs and time. This enables the company to operate more efficiently. The entire value-added chain will be optimized for "just in time" efficiency.

Strong junior staff - best marks in the final year 2019

All these milestones are based on the constant commitment of the employees, whose qualifications and competence, teamwork and motivation drive the company forward. Managing Director Thomas Sturm would like to thank each one for his commitment. Every one of them contributes significantly to the success of the company. He said he was particularly proud of the junior staff, who this year received their diplomas with top marks as toolmakers.

VWH GmbH also looks forward to the coming year with confidence and expects stable new business.
